Responsibilitie(s):

• Conduct first level review of internal control activities and continuously monitor the regulatory environment and provide update to the Head of the department for advice to management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
• Take necessary actions including as may be assigned by the Head of department to remediate audit exceptions and compliance violations
• Based on guidance, conduct GAP analysis on the Company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks for improvement
• Prepare training materials on compliance topics as may be assigned to ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes
• Prepare all required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual compliance returns for Head of the departments review ahead of returns filing
• Follow up to ensure timely rendition of all required returns across business units – regulatory, groupwide and internal
• Support in gathering relevant information for preparation of Board Committee’s Report and other management reports
• Take full responsibility with review and follow up on customer KYC issues. Ensure that GAPs which exist in the customer KYC documentations are resolved by engaging relevant Customer Relationship Manager
• Upon induction, support Internal Control team in conducting periodic reviews of the effectiveness of the Company’s internal control systems to ensure the integrity of the systems and processes
• Candidate will be involved in reviewing cash advances, retirements, expenses, claims, and other general procurement reviews

Qualification/Experience Requirement(s):

• Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting will be an advantage but not pre-requisite
• Membership in any of these professional bodies (ACCA, ICAN is an advantage) but not a pre-requisite
• Work experience: 0- 3 years
