The Head, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the company’s comprehensive risk management framework. The role will provide strategic leadership in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring all categories of risk (strategic, operational, financial, compliance, and reputational) and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
This role is pivotal in supporting the company’s growth while maintaining risk at acceptable levels in line with Heirs General Insurance’s risk appetite and business objectives.
Responsibilitie(s):
- Develop and implement the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, policy, and strategy across the organization
- Advise the executive team and Board Risk Committee on key risk exposures and mitigation strategies
- Lead regular risk assessments and scenario analyses to identify existing and emerging risks
- Facilitate the risk identification process across departments and ensure risk registers are updated and maintained
- Design and implement controls to mitigate risks in alignment with the company’s risk appetite
- Monitor risk exposure and performance metrics, and recommend corrective actions when thresholds are exceeded
- Ensure compliance with NAICOM, SEC, and other regulatory bodies’ risk-related requirements
- Prepare and submit periodic risk reports to executive management and regulatory agencies
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate risk-related audits
- Oversee the development and testing of the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to strengthen operational resilience
Qualification/Experience Requirement(s):
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance or a related field
- A Master’s degree (MBA or MSc) and professional certifications (e.g., IRM, CRM) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Enterprise Risk Management preferably within the insurance or financial services industry
- At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role
- Track record of developing and implementing risk management frameworks and strategies
