A perioperative nurse is a registered nurse who provides care to surgical patients before, during, and after surgery. They assess patient needs, collaborate with the surgical team, and ensure safe, efficient procedures by managing preoperative preparation, intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative recovery.
Responsibilitie(s):

Provide professional perioperative nursing care based on level of education, experience, established policies and procedures, and state licensure requirements

Ensure proper assessment of patients before, during, and after surgery and alleviate their concerns.
•
Prepare the operating room for surgeries
•
Maintain asepsis within the operating room
•
Transfer patient in and out of the operating room
•
Scrub or circulate for surgical cases
•
Monitor patient postoperatively
•
Record patients' medical information and vital signs on the EMR
•
Notify the surgeon about the patient's worsening condition
•
Adhere to safety standards and precautions
•
Requisite for operating room consumables from the store and maintain inventory levels
•
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments postoperatively
•
Ensure the proper handling of instruments and equipment to maintain safety and efficiency in our operations
•
Compile and generate statistics for the operating room.
• Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients
Prepare, administer, and document medications and therapies according to established policy and procedures.
• Communicate data to other members of the healthcare team.
• Establish interpersonal relationships with patients; provide information and supporting teaching to patients and families.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.

Participate in career improvement programs
