Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in a power plant to ensure safe and efficient operations. Supports project planning, execution, and maintenance activities while optimizing system performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
Responsibilitie(s):
- • Ensure the diagnosis and maintenance of circuit board that verify accurate electricity reading
- • Perform routine repairs/maintenance of electrical components/equipment.
- • Troubleshoot electrical problems and regulate the equipment that conducts and distribute electricity.
- • Provide sound electrical services to ensure quality in design output, and ensure that relevant standards and specifications are adhered to
- • Review electrical aspects, design drawings, specifications and installation procedures
- • Ensure conformance to overall safety requirements and relevant operational objectives
- • Oversee electrical facilities test such as grounding resistance testing, continuity testing, high/low voltage electrical testing etc.
- • Supervise and verify construction plans
- • Provide electrical support to company residents
- • Ensure proper installation and connection of wires to transformers, circuit breakers and other devices
- • Monitor the performance of design contractors and propose remedial actions to avoid design deficiencies, and installation delays
- • Ensure routine repairs/maintenance of electrical components/equipment is carried out
- • Perform and prepare various studies and reports on electrical engineering subjects and provide recommendations
- • Assist in the training and on-boarding new personnel
- • Develop electrical checklists as required
- • Ensure proper close out of projects
- • Initiate detailed work outlines and perform work for final development of technical proposals and studies of proposed projects Plan and directly monitor the activities of electrical technicians
- • Check the rectifiers (SCR) firing angle, the Carbon brushes and power cables with the use of oscilloscope.
- • Maintain and ensure steady 125vdc on all unit and station batteries
- • Generator Excitation Unit i.e. maintain exciter thyristors block, exciter transformer, collector
- • Check all electrical ground network/ interlocks.
- • Check electric Motor overload protection / insulation resistance merger

- • Implement data protection policies and practices of Transafam.
- • Ensure compliance with the NDPR and other data protection laws, data protection policies.
- • Undertake Data Protection Impact Assessment as applicable to curb the risk during data processing operations.
Qualification/Experience Requirement(s):
- • Minimum of First degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
- • Relevant professional membership is an added advantage
- • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in a similar environment
